Domestic Abuse Counselling Training

At Dactari, we believe in the power of experiential learning. Our training curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, allowing you to gain hands-on experience through role-plays, case studies, and counselling practice. This approach ensures that you not only understand the theories behind counselling but also develop the necessary skills to effectively support and guide clients in a compassionate and ethical manner.

Why Choose Dactari for Counsellor Training?

How can Dactari help?

Domestic abuse: what you need to know

In addition, we will be offering a range of downloadable training, based on the Foundation Course in Domestic Abuse Counselling from the end of July 2024. These will provide some insight into the knowledge required for domestic abuse counselling, but without the tutorials, case studies and/or role plays which are a central part of our in-person course and provide the experiential aspect of the training.

Feedback from Previous Trainees

“The training was great! It made me more aware about how to best apply my counselling skills to client scenarios. As a counselling student it was great to get more in-depth knowledge surrounding a certain client group. It has allowed me to understand the therapeutic relationship further and hopefully apply these skills to my current placement and learnings.”

“Really useful training, I learnt a lot and I’m already looking at what other courses are offered that I can book onto! I really enjoyed the training and got a lot out of it. I felt it catered for all levels of experience really well.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the training and would recommend to anyone wanting to explore this topic or just generally in the counselling profession. It clarified a few things and open my eyes to other elements that I hadn't thought of before. Professional and Approachable trainer.”

“Evidence based theories were broken down and shown how to put them into practical use for therapists. Very informative, with some good examples of ways to work with clients.”

“Jeannette was a brilliant facilitator. She brought together her wealth experience as a researcher and practitioner in the field and gave a comprehensive overview of domestic abuse in a short time frame.”

“Really enjoyable, relevant, and informative training. I will be booking further courses. Thank you!”
